I was fortunate enough to get to attend a preview of “Alice in Wonderland” on Tuesday.
I wouldn’t say it was the best movie I’ve ever seen, or even the best Tim Burton movie I’ve ever seen. But it was pretty awesome.
One thing that is off putting right from the start is the insanely long fall down the rabbit hole. It’s boring and if you’re watching it in 3D it’s the first taste you get and it hurts. There’s also the issue of the White Queen, who wasn’t even in the original, but it is needed to really reinforce the “good” and “evil” scenario.
My favorite character was the Cheshire Cat, hands down. I also enjoyed the Tweedles played by Matt Lucas from Little Britain fame. The entire cast was really great.
I recommend! I think that seeing it in 3D may not be completely necessary. Avatar really set the 3D bar and if you’ve seen it in 3D you might come out of “Alice” a little disappointed.
