I’m now officially two weeks from closing on the house, part of me goes, “OMGAH it’s only two weeks away!” and then the other part of me goes, “Seriously, two weeks - that’s a lifetime.”

Regardless I went ahead and put a few new things into motion. Called this morning and cancelled my service with BrightHouse and signed up online with AT&T for the most basic phone line you can get ($6.50 a month!) and DSL which is $15 cheaper a month than cable. I also set up my appointment with Brinks for the security system. There is already one in the house so I’m hoping they can just convert it, and that will save me some money.

Went yesterday and priced appliances, seriously it’s insane. But the good news is that I get a discount because of my realtor if I go with H.H. Gregg, and also the seller is paying about half the cost of the appliances for me. If I were doing it all on my own I probably would have died a little inside when I saw the total.

Still trying to get rid of my apartment. People bail or something comes up at every turn it seems. In the mean time I went ahead and started packing, pretty light at the moment, just the knick-knack bullshit.

Two weeks!
