Conservative American Evangelical Christian fundamentalist Pat Robertson said on his TV show on the Christian Broadcasting Network Jan. 13 that the Haitian people are under a curse because long ago they “swore a pact to the devil” to remove French colonists. (Link)

To actually be under the perception that there is a god out there that is so vengeful that he would actually send a gigantic earthquake to essentially destroy them all. It boggles my mind.

Let’s just say that Haitians really did “swear a pact to the devil”. Is it really fair to say that every single Haitian swore to that pact? EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM? Not really, so your god in all his infinite wisdom said, “Oh fuck it, let’s just destroy them all.” That’s pretty poorly thought out. Your god is lazy.
